More Info

Troop 941 is intended to model the Boy Scouts program as Lord Baden Powell intended, using the patrol method and applying the various methods he found useful. As such, we are a full uniform troop that helps boys work on activities in groups of 8-10 boys, which are called patrols. Our troop consists of 5 patrols and a leadership patrol, making up the whole troop. The troop is active in monthly activities and outings which allow the boys to learn new skills and grow in maturity and responsibility to become leaders in the patrols and troop.

Troop 941 also has a "brother organization" Venture Crew 940.   Venture Crew 940 is a high adventure program geared to boys and girls 14 to 21 years of age.  The high adventure program is an extension of the scouting program and provides an opportunity for crew members to plan, prepare, and participate in more demanding outdoor activities of their own choosing.   The crew learns from each other as well as from the adult crew advisors that provide the safety and support oversight for all meetings and outings.

Currently, the crew has active programs in Scuba Diving, Backpacking, and Canoeing/Kayaking.   In addition, the crew holds local social events and meets on a monthly basis.

While the crew is associated with BSA Troop 941, it welcomes young men and women from other scouting and non-scouting backgrounds and all levels of outdoor experience.
